Our guide will tell you the stories behind the statue S: T George and the Dragon, the Iron boy, Mårten Trotzig’s Alley, the restaurant “Den Gyllene Freden”, the childhood home of the painter Carl Larsson, the unique runestone, The Royal Palace, the Big Square and the Nobel museum etc.

The National Day of Sweden

Swedes celebrate their National Day on 6 June in honour of two historical events. On 6 June 1523, Gustav Vasa was elected king, and on the same date in 1809, the country adopted a new constitution. Changing of the Guard takes place every day of the year on weekdays and Saturdays at 12:15,  on Sundays and holidays at 13:15.  The changing of the guard takes about 40 minutes. However, the ceremonial march through central Stockholm, accompanied by a full military band, is usually only possible from May to August.

The Royal National City Park

is the capital’s green oasis.
